TII Intranet and Innovation News “Portal”
The new dynamic TII web site offers you a series of new services to keep abreast of trends and developments in the world of innovation & tech transfer:
Advanced Who-is-Who-in-Innovation Pages
The first service allows you to search a number of selected web sites related to innovation & tech transfer professionals. It pulls data from TII members’ sites and a continuously growing number of other sites. Click on the link on your left hand side
Advanced search capability: share your best sites with other members
Visit tii.org's new updated search section. We continue Jacob Bar's JBEngine as an offer to TII members. We are eagerly awaiting Jacob Bar's update to JBEngine, codenamed Socrates.
In addition to that we test new search engines and "mine" or "crawl" selected sites using Gigablast, Rollyo or Oxide. You can submit your own list of web sites to us and we will include it on the site. You should follow this page as the intention is to keep it updated with new search facilities.
RSS: Syndicated News
Once you have an RSS Reader, you go to the TII Innovation Weblog and subscribe to the news. Each Reader has a special way to get the news; some browsers support RSS reading.
Subscribe to TII News by CLICKING this BUTTON BUT you should have an RSS Reader installed first.
You can also subscribe directly to certain TII Knowledge Resources. See left hand links.
TII Forum becomes TII Weblogs and is available via RSS (see above)
RSS feeds and articles written by TII, its members or from other sources will be fed to a series of dedicated weblogs, i.e. collections of articles in regard to certain topics. TII members, who volunteer, share the responsibility of acting as guest editors to ensure high quality and dynamics. Members can comment and create discussion groups.
Updated, more comprehensive Links Section
In a dynamic world, it's important to update your professional links to interesting web sites concerned with innovation and technology transfer. The classical TII Links Sections is now more frequently updated. Follow the link on the left hand side. Members are invited to join as guest editors.
TII Knowledge Libraries
The new tii.org features a series of Knowledge libraries in a simpler more easily searchable structure. You can search documents (presentations, programmes etc) relating to TII events from 2003 onwards. TII News are posted to a special library as is Tenders Alert 2 years back.
TII Knowledge Libraries are password protectable. This means you could create a Special Interest Section and create your own workspace, see below.
TII Events: better web presence; new structure, new features
The TII Events pages (Click here) are now organized in such a way that members get an overview over Past Events; they get a separate overview page of Upcoming Events and each event gets a separate page with links to programmes and registration forms.
Further, TII Members now have the possibility to register for TII events online. For each announcement of events, there will also be an online registration form. At a later stage, we may add online payment modules as well.
For large events (and perhaps all later) we have added Travel information, hotel booking information and done some of the work for you to organize your trip.
We have also added a new feature to allow members to search for innovation related events around the world organized by our colleagues.
Updated Partner search facility
In the past, TII has facilitated different initiatives to create partnerships among members. The TRN (Technology response Network) of the 1990s was a printed database of Technology Offers and Technology Requests. TTY2K was an online initiative and experiment to update TRN. Now we have created a new Tech Transfer Facilitation (Click to see) Section to give you access to the best online Tech Transfer sites.
TII Exhibition on the web
Now you get an extra opportunity to market your organisation and your services to other TII members and other innovation and tech transfer professional. The new dynamic TII web site introduces the concept of Exhibition areas for TII Members and Sponsors.
In your dedicated TII Exhibition area you showcase your general profile and services; you may present relevant innovation & technology management techniques/tools.; link to your own web site etc. The TII Exhibition contains a front page of your own choice and as many linked pages as you wish. Within the framework of a layout menu, you deliver and manage content, which may be text, tables, images, links. Your individual keywords may be “meta-tagged” so as to improve your chances of becoming a hit on major search engines.
Free 12 month trial period
We wish to attract as many members as possible so there is no extra fee for an Exhibition area for a 12 month trial period, if you agree to create and maintain a link to TII.org from your web site.
TII’s new dynamic web concept will take initiatives to making the web site more visible to the Rest of the World and in particular to the innovation & technology transfer profession. TII will continuously log and monitor web traffic to the sites in order to document your exposure to browsing.

TII Members' Intranet & Knowledge Management Platform
Now you get an extra opportunity to organize Intranets and Knowledge libraries for special workgroups or interest sections.
The underlying system of tii.org is FirstClass (click to read more), the Intranet choice (knowledge management platform) of millions of users at universities, SMEs, corporations and other organizations.
Due to the hosting arrangement of tii.org, TII can now offer you a workspace for your project groups, whether internal, virtual or related to EC projects, in which you can get password-protected, encrypted communication capability. Avoid problems with email groups (anti-spam filters); log critical communication, allow version control and most other features of quality knowledge management platforms - at an affordable price (the price of setting up, hoating and maintaining the system, normally less than 500€, and then an annual fee per licensed user (competitively low prices based on "bandwidth", simultaneously logged on users etc.: estimate max. 50€ per licensed user.) to which you can add a hotline support ticket of your choice. Contact the secretariat to learn
more.
Combined with the other tii.org system, HCK, projects can get "real homepages" in minutes.
Examples of the use of the system, you can find here:
