Quality Net - Success Story
Four members of Quality Net – RTC North (Sunderland, UK), Steinbeis Europa Zentrum (Stuttgart, D), Meta Group (Terni, I) and Technology Centre AS CR (Prague, CZ), together with Procter & Gamble (UK and Germany) and other partners, were recently awarded funding for a project selected under the INNOV-7 call for proposals to identify new methods of transnational technology transfer. The project is based on the principle that in recent years many large corporates have embraced the “open innovation model” in sourcing new technologies across Europe. Many SMEs are nonetheless unaware of the opportunities and benefits offered by such forms of transnational technology transfer.
The project therefore aims to
1. Identify and mobilize company networks, such as supply chains, trade associations and collaborative ventures, as an improved mechanism for stimulating technology transfer.
2. Investigate and streamline the mechanisms used by company networks and large corporates to identify TT opportunities.
3. Build up capacity within individual companies and company groupings to exploit fully these mechanisms.
4. Disseminate the findings of the project to maximize the uptake of transnational technology transfer opportunities by companies.
