Quality Net Peer Review Visit Programme 2008
We are now ready to begin the Quality NET visits programme for 2008. Quality NET operates as a Special Interest Section of TII focusing on professional development and excellence in technology transfer organisations. Last year it was re-launched as the business development group of TII; however a prerequisite for doing business is understanding how the other potential partner organisations work and what skills they have to offer. Our vision is to create a group of professional organisations, recognised across Europe for efficient delivery of public projects in technology and innovation. We wish to use Quality NET as a platform for technology transfer, joint ventures and self-improvement.
The schedule is as follows:
1. RECRUITMENT OF PARTICIPANTS
In principle this should be completed in early May, but we will try to accommodate interested parties until early June. So far 24 organisations have agreed to participate.
2. SELECTION OF VISIT PARTNERS
At the beginning of May we will circulate a list of all participating organisations with a brief description of their type, size, activities and business interests. You will be asked to select three of these in order of priority which you would like to visit. This is necessary for planning purposes but in the past people have been very satisfied with their choices. In any case the results of all visits are available to everybody.
3. CONDUCT OF THE VISITS - UNTIL 15 JULY
The visits are “round robin” style: organisation A visits organisation B who visits organisation C, etc. You will need at least one day to complete the review questionnaire. If possible stay overnight so that you can spend some time to get to know the people and location and then conduct your “Future Business review” on the second day. A questionnaire will be supplied to help structure the question and answer process, as will a form to carry out the future business review. The latter is an innovation for this visit programme intended to highlight that Quality NET is now much more focused on securing commercial benefits through collaboration with other TII members.
4. ANALYSIS OF RESULTS - UNTIL MID-SEPTEMBER
All the returned questionnaires and “Future Business review” forms will be posted on the web-site so that Quality NET members can enter into individual discussions with preferred business partners. A small group will be selected to analyse the questionnaire results and produce a short report. We hope to present all results and outputs at the TII Summer School in September.
