TII members are promoting or providing high quality innovation support and technology transfer services to firms, with the ultimate aim to develop the knowledge economy and boost the wealth creation process.

The association creates a vibrant hub for members to share professional experience and good practice, to facilitate business opportunities for them and to support them in their technology transfer and innovation assignments.
 
It does this by organizing conferences and training events, by pursuing specialist activities through dedicated sub-groups and by offering high added value web-based tools.

The European Commission has inaugurated a Social Innovation Prize with prize money of EUR20,000 for the top three finalists who excel in "unlocking potential and creating new work", the challenges addressed in this inaugural edition. Applications close on 21 December 2012.

The ACP-EU Cooperation Programme in Science and Technology II (S&T II) Call for Proposals, with a budget of 20.8 million euro, was launched on 08/10/2012.

EPO's 2011 STATISTICS NOW AVAILABLE. 2011 was a record year at the EPO with almost 250 000 patent filings, the highest number ever in its 34-year history. In global terms, the demand for patent protection is on the rise (4% increase in filings in 2011 compared to 2010).

2012 MILLENNIUM TECHNOLOGY PRIZE GRAND WINNERS NAMED. Two leading innovators - Linus Torvalds and Dr Shinya Yamanaka - were announced as grand winners of the 2012 Millennium Technology Prize at a ceremony in Helsinki on 13 June. The two winners share the prize money of EUR 1.2 million.
